The title of this piece is “Rainbow Mist.” The photograph itself was taken in Yosemite National Park. The compositional rule that was used was leading line since the rainbow draws the audience’s attention. The photograph was taken on an iPhone 6+ and the image was edited on Adobe Photoshop CC 2015. My artwork would be categorized in the landscape division since it’s a photo of the park. Last but not least, the picture was printed on Epson Glossy Photo Paper on the Epson P800 digital printer.

David Hockney is an english painter, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He was born on July 9, 1937 in Bradford, United Kingdom. Hockney was an important contributor to the pop art movement of the 1960s, he is considered one of the most influential British artists of the 20th century.
First, I decided on something to photograph and when I figured it out I took 12 photos of it. 4 across the top, middle, and bottom so that I can get a good span of the area. Then I went into photoshop and resized each image with the same proportions and aligned them as best I could so that it would look like the original photograph. Remember I would overlay them, not just put them next to each other. I chose TIME magazine because it's the most famous and iconic magazine that I know of. I made Chris pose in a position that makes him look like the man because that's what the magazine does. They usually have a title of person of the year or most influential people. I didn't do anything special with the font style or color so I just did white & black. I had Chris sit down on a pedestal and look up with his arms crossed over to make him look more important. A strobe light is a powerful flash that is synced to the camera so that it strobes when the shutter is released. You would use it to provide strong studio lighting, and it would be paired with other sources of light. A modeling light is a secondary light source in a studio shoot that allows for a balance in lighting to eliminate shadows and create even exposure. It would be used with a strobe light, generally placed on the opposite side of the subject in order to balance the light. A soft box is a cover placed over a strobe light and guide the light. It is used to channel the light from the strobe and soften it so that the resulting light is diffused cleanly. It also directs the light straight to the subject. A reflector is a flat panel of varying shapes and sizes, but usually circular. They can be either white, silvery, or gold. They are used to reflect light from the light source in order to eliminate shadows or create even and balanced lighting. A grey card is a physical panel with a white, gray, and black strip that is held by the subject in test photos. It is used to allow the photographer to find the perfect exposure so that the gray on the photograph perfectly matches the gray on the real panel. A radio trigger system is a system of transmitters that are attached to the camera and any light sources, especially strobe lights. It is used to allow for wireless connectivity between the camera and light sources so that the flash from the lights is synced to the shutter release in the camera, and it allows the photographer to be more mobile due to the lack of a cord.
It's peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time
(Chorus:) Where he at 4x There he go 4x Peanut butter jelly 4x Do the peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly, Peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat 2x (Chorus) I created this image by first cropping out the peanut butter and jelly from the separate photographs and pasting it on a new layer in the hourglass. Then I used the paintbrush tool to clean up the edges in a new layer mask and made the peanut butter and jelly fit into the hourglass. Then I changed the background layer from the hourglass to a blank background to add a space image. After that, I added an image of bread and distorted it so that it could look bigger and on a slant. Then I duplicated the layer and rotated it so that it could be on the other side of the hourglass as well. Then to wrap it all up, I added text into the hourglass so that people could easily recognize the jelly and peanut butter. A mandala is a trippy photograph in the form of a circle. You create one by first choosing a photograph that you want to use and you open it up in photoshop as well as an mandala template. Take the magic wand tool and select a part of the picture you find interesting and drag it onto the mandala template. Once you do that you duplicate the layer to fill out another piece of the template. Once you get the top half of the mandala done merge the layers together and duplicate that layer to finish the mandala. Flip the duplicated layer and adjust it to make it perfect and then you're done. My favorite image was the blue one because it came out the nicest out of all of them in my opinion. I struggled with the background at first because I didn't know how to do it at first but then I figured it out. I don't think I would do anything different if I could do these again because it's all a learning process and I learned through my mistakes.
